I am shocked by some writing I see on blogs where people simply write to make fun of someone else. Sure, it is a good thing to laugh, but why does it have to be at another person's expense? There are so many beautiful things in this world, and so many beautiful people doing extraordinary things! Why not focus on that?
I found some lovely quotes tonight from some authors whom I love:
"The best thing a girl can be is a good wife and
mother. It is a girl's highest calling." ~Nancy E. Turner
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it
happened." ~Dr. Seuss
"The best way to get even is to forget." ~ Debbie Macomber
"[Children] just cannot be sad too long, it is not in
them…" ~Nancy E. Turner
"It does not due to dwell on dreams and forget to
live." ~ J.K. Rowling
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep
because reality is finally better than your dreams."
"Children are a burden to a mother, but not the way a
heavy box is to a mule. Our Children weigh hard on my heart, and thinking
about them growing up honest and healthy, or just living to grow up at all,
makes a load in my chest that is bigger than the safe at the bank, and more
valuable to me than all the gold inside it." ~Nancy E. Turner
Each of these statements really ring true to me. They cause me to pause and think about what really matters in life. In my opinion, words should only be written if they lift others up and bring them joy...not superficial pleasure, but joy.
