My Adventures in Writing Series

Hi, I'm an author. I've been published by a publishing house and I have self-published. Each path was interesting, informative and, at times, frustrating.  Just like every other writer out there, I want people to read what I create and value it like I do. Needless to say, that's not always how it goes.

The life of an author is blissful agony. I have decided to share the good, the bad and the ugly of my writing experiences. I hope you benefit from my successes and failures. If not, at least you will be entertained.

So I am inviting you to join the journey. I have learned from others who have shared their experiences with me. I hope to pay it forward by sharing mine with you.

To that end, I am launching a series called, My Adventures in Writing. It will consist of blogs and videos about my every-day journey as a writer. Some of the topics I plan to tackle are:
  • Rejections from literary agents and publishers
  • Why I started to write, who influenced me, and the birth of my first novel
  • Interesting traits of my fictional characters and how I've "learned about them"
  • Self-published vs. published
  • My book launch (or bust!) of my second novel
  • Why I keep writing and how
  • The huge benefits and humbling voice of writing groups
  • My pet peeves with writing advice
  • Overcoming criticism
  • "Gab" flies (the characters that gab, gab gab in my head)
  • What I do after "hitting a wall"
  • The miraculous transformation of an idea to a finished novel
  • Social Media pros and pitfalls
  • Other books and authors I recommend

If you have any other topic suggestions, please let me know in the comments below! And share this post with your friends so they can give their feedback too.

I will post something once a week. If you are signed up for my newsletter you won't miss a thing. If not, please sign up! I am giving out FREE chapters of my current fantasy romance as a special gift to my subscribers.
